  We have been going to Willamette Vet for three years now. We originally chose them because they are 24 hour, boarding and close by. When our dog was a puppy she got into everything and anything (but that’s what you get when you live/work on a farm). I swear I could call and the front office would recognize me by my voice! We have gone into Willamette day and night. Although we weren’t pleased to go we knew we were going to receive the best and fastest care. Every time we went in we knew our baby (aka dog) was going to get the best treatment. We have worked with three of the vets there, when we had Dr. Lewer we knew we hit the jack pot and have requested him every time we go in. Everybody clicks differently and we clicked. He is straight and to the point. I can ask what would you do if it was your dog? He will give me the honest answer! The vet techs and front office gals/guys are always fantastic! They take their time, don’t rush and work with our dog. From saying hello, weighing in and doing the down and dirty (taking our pups temp). Even with all the smiles (showing teeth in a not so friendly way) our dog gives them, they still smile back. Yes, bringing our dog to an emergency vet at 2am is not cheap but she is our baby and we would do anything for her. We also have pet insurance and that has helped ease the financial burden substantially throughout all those terrible times. I have highly suggested Willamette Vet to all of our friends and family. I know when my parents have an emergency with their dog they will drive 65 miles to Willamette knowing they will revive the best care and advise.

  What a horrible experience here last night! This place is money hungry and shame on them for not caring for the lives of animals!! I am beyond angry that they would turn away a cat that needed an emergency C section and would most likely not make it through the night. She was in pain! She needed the babies out of her! She had a live baby that needed her! What did you need over $3000 to save her �Oh you don't have that money then good luck, I'm sorry.. take her home to die!?!? You take an oath as a doctor to save lives yet when it comes to a life that is in desperate need of saving you turn it away cause of money.. how do you live with yourself? How do you sleep at night knowing you have a skill to save lives but instead look them in the eyes and are ok with them dying cause someone can't afford outrageous fees??? Shame on you!!! Just sick!! Luckily this little mama did make it because even though we had to drive hours we found kindness and compassion and people that cared about saving lives not making money and taking advantage of people in urgent situations! All I can say is seriously shame on you .. Even though you try to make others feel bad because they are at your mercy and can't afford your high fees, it's you that has to face yourselves every day and know you can save lives and won't because of greed.. it's time you find your compassion again and if you can't well I hope it haunts you. I'm grateful we were able to find this mama help and she didn't have to die. What a horrible sick feeling leaving your facility last night.. I feel bad for everyone else that has experienced that here and I hope in the future others don't have to feel that way but until you become more reasonable with your fees and until you find more compassion and love this is an unfortunate place to have to end up.. Whoever is in charge there needs to do a better job and get a better kinder system in place.
